Lindsay Sutton-Stephens
LSS’s deep appreciation for the authenticity, unpretentiousness, and relaxed vibe of the town she has called home for the past two decades is the driving force behind her many efforts. As a woman who literally and figuratively “wears a lot of hats” within the community, she works tirelessly to maintain the vibrant spirit of Salida through raucous events, contemporary folk art, and unique, authentic initiatives.
Lindsay has dedicated the last 20 years to painting on glass, rescuing windows from ending up in landfills and revitalizing forgotten surfaces. She believes that art should be lighthearted and aims to create pieces that bring joy, smiles & levity.
LSS lives in downtown Salida, Colorado, with her husband, two children, and their chatty corgi, Stooge. Together with her husband, Aaron Stephens, she believes in the principle of giving back to the community you cherish, which fuels their significant involvement in local initiatives. Lindsay currently serves as the creative director and president of the FIBArk Community Paddling Program and Aaron serves as a Ward 2, Salida City Councilman.

The Merry Making Pirate of Salida, Colorado
“Living by the water and holding moments under the moonlight is not just a poetic notion; it embodies a lifestyle in Salida, Colorado. Salida is a town almost mythical in nature, a way of life that captures the essence of a beach community, all while being surrounded by majestic mountains. Salida exudes an energy so laid back it’s almost habitual. Amidst its authentic charm, you will find a community that values experiences more than the typical competitive hustle and bustle of the outside world; we embrace positive vibes more than material pursuits. It’s what keeps our hearts pure and allure magnetic. This town, filled with authenticity, warmth, and a ton of carefree spirit, holds celebrations that could only flourish in Salida.
What makes Salida cool is its ability to think independently and creatively while maintaining a lot of heart. You can’t find our essence in other places and if you can, chances are it’s just imitating the pirate ship. You can see a Salida Pirate’s heart/creativity from a mile away”
